So the whole purpose of this post is just to announce an upgrade of a well known product?

Yes because it's popular and it was just released when I posted it. Search the threads and you'll see others do it too. ;)

So you responded just to tell us why a thread was created to announce the latest release of CCleaner, brilliant ! :D

I tried to lobby for a separate 'software announcement' sub-topic a while back but the mods didn't see the need.

I think that posts/threads like this should not contribute to a users post count.

    But that's just me.

I recently suggested that the "Browser Update Thread" be turned into "Program Update Thread". Simple and quick fix.

Actually I like that idea myself, but as usual nobody listens to me. :(

But anyways I get all my notices for updates using filehippo updater and Cnet tech tracker. :p

I even posted a thread about it in the suggestion forum, but it was ignored.
We girls get used to it I guess.
I look at Filehippo too, so useful. ^_^
But what's the Cnet tracker Padme?

No I didn't mean I look at filehippo. I have the filehippo update checker that you can download from their site. Upper right hand corner to download it.

And here is a link for the Cnet tech tracker: CNET TechTracker - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

They both do the same thing, but sometimes one will find something different than the other.

Okay I guess I better go update Ccleaner now as I actually forgot about it.

Doesn't CCleaner pop up update notifications?
An update thread for CCleaner is therefore unnecessary. If you guys do care about software updates, why don't you do it yourself, rather than depending on an Update sticky.

It would be incorporated into the Browser Update Thread, and for all programs, not just Ccleaner.

    Thanks for posting the update.

It's a good idea to have update reminders here on NBR. For those of us who don't regularly update software like we should, threads like this one help...
