Anyone know how to change the boot screen? A little OCD, but my bootscreen's got the Lenovo logo and I want the standard one back! Have not found any instructions online for Windows 8 yet.

By boot screen, do you mean the splash logo during POST? If you want the typical POST messages instead of the Lenovo splash, then you can change that in BIOS. Although it may vary from one BIOS to another, I think it's commonly found under Advanced, and then there should be a setting; something along the lines of "Boot Time Diagnostic Screen".

Is that what you're referring to?

If i recall correctly, Lenovo laptops actually show a different splash screen than the one Windows shows after POST. I'm betting that's what the OP wants back, that square window the circling dots.

This. Anyone? I guess I can put up with the Lenovo logo but would like the standard Microsoft one if possible.

Do you mean the black screen with the circle loading symbol? In your case it would have just lenovo written on it? in black and white i assume?

My alienware does it, but with the alienware logo, its linked to the UEFI boot isnt it?

Thanks, please let me know if you figure it out. I think I remembered messing around with the boot screen back in the XP days but that was many moons ago and I am much less of a computer nerd now.

Poked around a little more. You can (at least in XP) eliminate the logo altogether - no Windows logo at boot. Just a black screen until the OS loads: Change XP Boot Screen
In Vista/7, open the MSConfig and go to the Boot tab, and the "no GUI boot" option is there as well.

BootSkin works well, but it's only compatible for up to Windows Vista. :( Windows 7 forums users say it can't be done, although I found this!: Coder for Life - Project - Windows 7 Boot Updater

Let me know if you try this before I do. I'd love to see if it works. :)

    Hi guys!

This is it? Because I want to change win8 logo to original alienware logo from win7 but all tips to win7 are wrong.
Anyone have some idea? Is this possible?
