Got a new Lenovo computer with the retail store's name as the computer name and the user name (slightly different).
I created a new user and deleted old user, no problem. But, deleted user directories still visible. I renamed the admin user and the old directory names are still being used. I know if I change the computer name that the old computer name will still be used for directories.
Why is that and is there a way to make it all like a fresh install (directories showing the new names), short of editing every single directory? I don't have install disks.

Renaming through Right clicking on computer then properties will achieve this.
The computer name isn't used for any directories.
Most laptops do come with a recovery partition thought by press some combination of buttons after the bios screen. -
Did you buy this computer at a discount, since this is what's commonly referred to as a "floor model", not a brand new computer. If you buy a new computer, then on first boot-up Windows will go through a user setup phase, where you would set all of these things.
In your case, somebody has set up and used this computer before. If it was indeed a floor model, then who knows what has been done to this machine... -
If recovery discs weren't supplied with the computer, make them and then use them to do full system recovery. Or even better, perform clean install.

Thanks everybody.
It was a reduced price floor model, I haven't seen anything to think that unusual manipulation has occurred. I will not be the user and will only see this computer when someone wants it fixed or changed. So when a username doesn't match the directories I have to surf through it just makes everything more difficult and can lead to mistakes.
KLF = the clean install you mention requires a set of new install discs, or can the computer create them? I have heard of a recovery partition, and creating a recovery disc, but not being able to make install discs from an existing OS. -
You can grab the windows 7 iso from here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/win...-7-download-links-just-like-vista-before.html and install all the drivers and programs manually afterwards. Those do not contain SP1 i think though and there is another thread with a SP1 iso.

I managed to get a total of $500 off (already reduced plus floor model reduction) my purchase. Not to mention it has the full store and manufacturer discount. However, to be brutally honest, my motherboard did fail about 10 months in so I need to use every bit of that. -
Either way, with a floor model a full reformat is a necessity, unless if you don't mind someone stealing your passwords and credit card numbers. -
