Hello,
my video card is broken (video memory failure), but I found the possibility to run the video card with the VGASave driver. Works fine as an "emergency mode", but it's really annoying to read on a 1440x900 screen in 1024x768 resolution, because everything is blurred.
Does anyone know, if there's any possibility to change my screen resolution to 1440x900 in VGASave mode? other possibility would be to disable the interpolation of the lcd and work on a smaller area, but is this possible without NVidia software (which means enabling the video card -> BSOD).
Cheers
Tobi

Very, very little chance. VGA drivers don't typically do widescreen aspects. Can you set the scaling type in the BIOS to not stretch? Other than that, since you have a Dell, you should start looking at a new video card.

About the new card: Dell would have to replace it, as the card is still in warranty (unlike the rest of the notebook). At the moment, we are in negotiation about a new notebook, but in the meantime, looks like I have to use the Inspiron.
