So I just bought a here laptop from a fellow NBR user, but I can't figure out how to change it from his name to mine...I'm not exactly sure what it's called, but when you go to "C:\Users" his name shows up and I can't figure out how to change it. I've tried looking up a solution but I'm not really sure what to call it and I can't find an answer. Hopefully somebody can help me change it.

If it is an additional user account, just log in to the admin account, delete the user account you don't want, and make a new one. If it is the normal (not built in) admin account, then I don't think it can be done. Try creating an additional user account, setting it to an administrator level, logging into it, and then deleting the installation created user/admin account. You may have to demote the admin account your attempting to delete either from the new admin account or from within the admin account you're trying to delete (I'm not sure if one admin user can delete another so mess around with it). If you want to retain user specific settings you can copy the user data from the old admin account to the new one through Control Panel>System>Advanced>User Profiles>Settings. That's just my guess though, I'm not sure if that will actually work but that's how I would approach it.

I'm sure the seller is trustworthy, but generally it's a good idea to do a minor drive scrubbing and clean install on purchase of a used laptop. Who knows what's on the drive. This would also allow you to set your user accounts how you want them.

Go to Control Panel and select User Accounts. Enter a new account name and make sure it is Administrator and then delete his account.

I have to install my SSD anyway, so should I just do a clean install when I install the SSD?

In my opinion, yes. Especially if your switching over from a mechanical to SSD, you want windows to install configured for an SSD. Plus, it will be a lot easier and quicker than cloning your mech drive to an SSD, or restoring your mech drive's windows installation to your SSD.

Well right now I'm using a single HDD, but I'm adding an SSD for a boot drive. So I'm guessing it's a completely different configuration
