Ok you know how Tiger OSX has the option to keep changing the wallpaper every few seconds? its so pimping...

Is there any software for Windows that can do it...I really want it!?

There's also a Windows XP powertoy that does this. I got lost looking for a link perhaps someone else can chime in with that. I'd like to see which uses fewer system resources.

Wow. I don't think I even look at the desktop that often. I was actually thinking it would be nice to have it change every day or so, so I don't have to look through all of my wallpapers to make a decision, and it would be a nice little surprise.

Maybe you should just get a screensaver and set it to come on very very very quickly? These two come to mind; they are actually composed of images originally created as wallpapers and switch every few seconds.

Does running this powertoy demand much in terms of processing power or memory on a continual basis - or does it just run at the selected interval?

I'd like to know that too. I can't imagine it takes too much muscle to simply load a new wallpaper.

I would doubt it, too, but, if it takes a little muscle all of the time (as opposed to for a moment), I'd be more hesitant to use it.

It doesnt take anything barely. How does a powerbook or any other mac do it so perfectly. Why does Windows suck so much - so much relative to my avatar?

Anyone have any ideas of programs that could do the trick?

    Thanks!

aer0sense, you could ask flaxx to make you a program in windows that does this. It probably wouldn't take him more than a couple days if he has the time.

If not then we'll probably have to wait for a week or two.

He's a programmer and he seems to be quite good.

He made a couple programs for us Z70Va/Asus users to turn on our dead wireless LED lights. :D

I know what you mean though, there aren't many programs for windows to make it prettier, like osx.

    Cheers,
    Mike

Well, you didn't search very hard.
I found about 5 apps which can change walpaper as easily as on my Mac (as often as once every minute, if you want). Most of them are free too. I'm using one called 'Wallpaper Master' right now.

I have tried all of them ICamp.
I want the fade in/fade out effect and out of all the programs I have tried including Wallpaper Master no one gives it.

@Shampoo - Thanks for the advice, ill try to contact him.

Did you try the ones I linked? They use preselected papers, but they do sort of fade.

I use WallMaster too. I love it. Took me forever to find one I liked. As for fades or other transition effects, I'm never looking at it when it changes anyway so I wouldn't notice. Not to metion it could get a little confusing having things fading and changin while clicking on icons and moving windows around.
