    Hi.

My OS is running on a 3.6mm Crucial MSATA M500 series SSD 120GB.

Now, I thought I try and prolong its lifespan a bit and try to avoid writing and 'unwriting' a lot of data on it.

I think the right way to do this is to change the %TEMP% and %TMP% save locations? Am I right?

If that is the right thing to do, how do I change the location in environmental variables? Edit and type in D:\FolderX ?

My last concern is that if I change the standard location, programs such as Avira Antivir/CCcleaner etc. won't find my temp data anymore. Am I assuming right?
If yes, I will prolly just hope my SSD will survive long enough anyway.

    Cheers,

    Gin

^^^ Agreed. Just curious, do you have any unallocated space on the drive and what % of the usable space are you using now?

You should be able to right click and pull up the properties for folders like Downloads and Documents. There should be a location tab where you can define a new location (i.e. on a data drive instead of the SSD).
