Does anyone know where/how to get Office 2010 for the cheapest price? (Legal and safe.) I see that the Mircosoft store has them for $100, is that the cheapest? I need to have Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher.

    Thanks,

    ~350

If you need legal access to a whole pile of msft apps and OS' you can't go wrong with a microsoft technet standard subscription. $199 your first year, typical renewals are $150 or less with coupons. You get everything you have listed and more.

With a technet subscription you need to be very careful about keeping your license keys to yourself (no sharing!!!) otherwise msft will cancel your subscription AND all of your licenses. If you can manage that, go for it.

Wait a minute. He found a price of $100. That sure beats your proposal.

It would most likely be a waste of money for me to get an subscription like that. I can get Windows OS's for free through my college and I only need basic Office productivity, as listed above. The software program I'm using for one class will only communicate with Office 2010.

I don't know anyone close to me that is in the military and I wouldn't feel right bumming an offer off of someone that serves our country.

I got it through my dad who works at a university for $10 (entire suite).

I would check your schools bookstore. They may have a better price than microsofts site.

I used OpenOffice throughout college and never looked back. Of course, if you have something that's only compatible with Office 2010, that wouldn't work.

My college has the entire MS Office 2011 for $15..

I suggest you try and check out your school's computer store!

Agree with the posters above, check the bookstore, most schools have deals that are killer on MS Office.

    Which software is it?
Open office (or if you want now Libra Office) is essentially a substitute for MS Office, so hypothetically, it should be compatible.
Are there any plugins or extensions for the software program you use that would allow LibraOffice or Open Office?

Hypothetically, yes. Reality, not. My daughter was using Open Office to do some resumes that she'd e-mail to me to edit and cleanup and when I'd open them in MS Office they'd look horrid. I had to add open office to my PC to do it.

I'm using MyItLab and it will only accept Office 2010. I will check to see if the bookstore has any deals.
