I'm required to have a license for it through my school, so I can't download it or anything...what's the cheapest way to get it...my school just redirects me to a "discount" software site where it's $199, but I'm sure I can get it cheaper elsewhere. Any ideas?

Is there anything special about this version of MS Office that requires you to buy it? Is there an included program you have to use? If not Open Office is free and works very well and is totally compatible with MS Office.

Get me one :[ My school just redirects me to the scohol bookstore which is paretnered with some site that just sells for a little discount. I hear most schools sell it for dirt cheap, $40-$50 for most software.

My school offers office 2007 professional plus for $85, so I got it from there.

If would just recommend to try out:
    OpenOffice

its the free alternative to Microsoft Office Pro

Its got fully compatible programs with:
    - Word
    - Excel
    - Powerpoint
    etc....

It looks extremely similar as the MS Office stuff... but free. :D

I'll probably just use open office, I'm sure it won't really make a difference as long as I can type stuff out.

Open Office is still great... although I would recommend you to Save As... Word 2000/XP document.

So that if you ever want to send it to someone else, they would be able to open it.... or if you ever get MS Office down the line, all of the documents will be fully compatible.

I'm sorry... However I'm already using the copy provided to me by my school.
