Pretty standard stuff. You just edited explorer.exe with a resource editor, right? Here's some info on how to do it: http://www.theeldergeek.com/change_text_on_xp_start_button.htm
I don't take any responsibility if you break your machine following these instructions

I don't like it, very ugly...
-
i agree (10 chars.)

Not a very attractive button - the ship background doesn't match the button color, it's the standard Windows button, and it doesn't really add anything to the overall look. I agree with foosa and sandeisgn.

Why would you wanna do that man? Cool that you could change it but it doesn't look right in my opinion.

I like it!

Thanks Blondie! Does anyone know how I can change the colour???
Thanks loads again. -
Not very professional looking like the many skins out there
-
Of your start menu? Or of the icon? Because you just need to edit the resource of the icon to change that. Change all the fluorescent green around the sailboat to "magic purple" (255,255,0 on the RGB values), reload the image into whatever you did to edit it in the first place, and it should just automagically work.
-
It would be okay if the greens actually matched.

Good job!Here is mine. http://forum.notebookreview.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7353&stc=1&d=1181034773

Thanks. Is Resource Hacker a good one? I did all the previous stuff using the edit command in cmd.

Ouch, you're getting some pretty harsh criticism here... nice job, though, I have no idea how to do that...
Very cool.
