Does anyone use any VPN software? On 64-bit Vista? It seems CheckPoint isn't in any hurry to make their SecureClient software available for 64-bit vista. :(

I'm in the same boat and had to run Windows XP on MS Virtual PC inside Vista64 to be able to connect :(.
It's very disappointing that Checkpoint is so behind the times on this one.

Cisco is also screwing 64-bit Vista users, unless you want to upgrade the Firmware on your appliance. Annoying.

Yeah, I got the same problem. In fact, I don't know of a VPN software that actually works with 64-bit Vista. The only work around that I know of is the one of smd9.

Logmein might also work since, if I'm not mistaken, it is web based or something. Alas I can't use it because the network admin at my job won't let me connect to the webpage itself :(

    Good Luck!

The only third party 64-bit VPN client I know of is NCP. However its IPSec, I have it working and its not bad although its trial.

The other is Shrew Soft and its Open Source therefore GPL. Unfortunately I'm still tinkering with it for compatibility with Cisco Pix on 6.3(5).

    Hope this helps,

    Flangemonkey,
Is there any way you can describe how you got NCP to work connecting to a checkpoint firewall? I can't seem to figure it out and I am desperate to get it working on vista 64. Thanks so much!

I have been in the same boat as many of you and I also used the "Virtual PC 2007" workaround.

I'm running Vista 64 bit. After installing Virtual PC, you will need a copy of XP 32 bit. You install that on the Virtual PC and you will be able to load the SecuRemote software along with the Citrix client.

I downloaded Virtual PC from the Microsoft website: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=04D26402-3199-48A3-AFA2-2DC0B40A73B6&displaylang=en

Make sure to change the network adapter to the same one on your host pc.

I hope this helps. I've been trying to get my VPN software running for months now and I've finally succeeded using this method.
