No one should ever use the words

    Google Stable Release

    in the same sentence.

Acid3 as a 'test' of browser compatibility and 'speed' has been quietly discredited in the past six month because Google (among one or two other browser makers) have implemented server-side hacks to make their client browser appear compliant. They aren't.

But with nothing to replace it, Acid3 remains in place until w3c withdraws it.

Not for me, since I deleted the task aka that annoying google.exe that constantly runs. I update manually.

Firefox is still faster than Chrome for me. In the past it was the other way around, but since I cannot get Chrome to run or load a page within the same timeframe as Firefox.

Heck, even Internet Explorer starts up quicker.

In terms of raw speed (start-up, render speed, etc) Chrome is by far the fastest.

But, don't confuse speed with compatibility. Chrome in some instances is not compatible with some pages that Firefox or even IE may be with.

True that, I keep FF 3.6 around for a couple of sites. Chrome works fine for the majority of sites that I visit.

Chrome is awesome for netbooks with limited capabilities. During testing I found it to be faster for general usage and browsing than IE/Firefox/Opera. Nice to see its being updated, as long as they don't make it slower/bloated in doing so!

The problem I find with Google Chrome is that it renders the page very quick (quicker than FF in most cases), but you can't actually 'use' the page for a second or two. This little bug is really annoying, unless you like looking at the top of a page a lot :p
