This was obvious from the start. Anyone using chrome is a fool who just is doing it because it's new and it's google. And they don't know that... PSST... it's based on the same engine as the terrible browser safari.
    "ooh but it's so simplistic"
WOW, COOL. Browsers have been doing this for years, and doing it better.

Of course Chrome is going to be more buggy than IE and Firefox! Chrome is brand new and is a beta. Although, it might stay a beta forever just like Gmail ;)

Very good point. However, people don't select browsers based on their engine, they do it based on it's interface, resource needs, etc.

Yea, I just read that article. I'd be surprised if it came out within the next month or two though.

At this point, I think any current browser is better than IE.

Regarding bugs, there will always be bugs, doesn't matter whether it's alpha, beta, RC or release versions. What that matter is the responsible teams fix the bugs quickly enough before they were widely exploited. Historically, IE team fails on this aspect. It take years for them to release an update for their broken browser.

Major of products from Google are beta and hard to say Chrome will come out of beta soon.

Completely disagree with that - on Vista IE7 is the most secure browser available when running in protected mode, which it does by default.

    Huh?

I'd strangely have assumed that Firefox with Noscript was a buttload more secure than IE.

Nope. In protected mode, IE is completely detatched from the OS, and the only place it can save any data to is your user folder.

The functionality of IE in protected mode is so minimal though. IIRC you can't run any external applets like flash or java in protected mode.

Don't say something that you don't even know. I am running all the applets just fine with protected mode ON. UAC ON is referred as the protected mode in IE 7. You will get UAC prompts before running active X plugins.

This. Protected mode in IE7 is a perfect example of UAC actually working well in Vista.

    IIRC
    If
    I
    Recall
    Correctly

I did not claim a fact. I just have seen lots of issues with active x and flash controls in IE7's default mode, and in order to get even basic functionality back, you have to change settings. I assumed that protected mode locked it down like that.

And as for the IE vs Others... it's not like security is the only thing people want in a browser. It's something important, just not all. Only recently has IE been able to even pass Acid 2, and it's still not pretty.

If you recall correctly then what you had assumed is wrong. The default settings will allow you to normally use the plugins.

I respect that, but IMO security IS the most important factor in an internet browser. It is for me anyway.
