I have no issues downloading and installing any programs except chrome.I have downloaded Chrome from two different links on the chrome website. When I click on the installer nothing happens.I do not get an error or anything.I have tried a few dozen times to install it.I searched the google help forums, and posted my own questions there, but no answers have solved my problem.

Ben2go, Have you tried running the installer with UAC turned down or off? I am sure you have already tried right click and run as adminstrator.

I've encountered the same problem before. Never figured out a solution though, I'd really like to know it though.

    Hopefully someone knows.

Thanks and yes I have tried those with the same results.UAC was off.I can't figure out if it's an OS conflict or a bad download.Everything I check comes back ok.

If I find a solution I will post it.

    No I didn't.

I ran the program compatibility test and it cam back incompatible. The new version of Chrome is 16.0.889.0.I went back to the previous version 15.0.874.21.now everything works.

However, this still leaves me with a question. The conflict is with AMD64 architecture, but my pc is Intel all the way.I even checked the specs to make sure I wasn't hallucinating.

So if anyone wants to try an older version of Chrome, here they are.It shows the newest on the link below but all version are listed.
    Download Google Chrome 16.0.889.0 Beta - FileHippo.com

actual intels are based on the AMD64 architecture (often called x64).
