I'm collecting tools to do a clean install of W7HP.
I'm planing to use MS USB Tool and the latest Digital River W7 ISO with SP1 installed.
I'm wondering if I can save time by using a driver back up program to speed re-install or just provide a complete list of what was installed.
Any thoughts or which programs?
TIA

Depends on the mfg of the laptop. Lenovo, Toshiba and i've been told HP have excellent driver update management programs. I know from experience with both Lenovo and Toshiba you install your essential drivers. In my case Intel Chipset and Intel Matrix Storage Mgr.
After that I install the Toshiba update mgr program, connect my laptop to the internet and it finds all of the latest drivers for my laptop. It downloads and installs them. That's the super easy and quick way of doing it. If not I would download the latest drivers and install them. Drivers don't take that long to install. -
Yes thanks, it was for the Toshiba. I'll look for the Tosh update manager.
The last time I did this manually on my ul30vt, using driver disk, so just looking to see if you guys found an easier way.

Here you go, this is what I use. You'll need to search for your Model # first then select OS, followed by 32 or 64 bit.
Toshiba Software Installer for Windows 7
EDIT: Here's a thread I started on the subject: http://forum.notebookreview.com/toshiba/629670-there-windows-7-clean-intall-guide.html#post8131736
Make sure System Restore is turned on or Toshiba Software Installer will crash.
