My 1000+ iTunes song collection is extremely messy, with numerous wrong artist/album entries or just blanks. Is there a piece of software out there that can automatically correct these wrong listings? Thanks.

Well I don't know of any automatic programs. However I really like Media Monkey since it allows you to tag your music according to Amazon.com and it downloads cover art for you. It might take a little bit but I think it is the best program to do it. http://www.mediamonkey.com/

As far as I know.... short answer .... nope.

It's going to take time, but what you can do is right click on the song and do a get info on it. This will open a multi tab panel where you can input pretty much any and all the info you want or need. I've done this for the stuff that doesn't get imported properly. Don't go into the parent folder of iTunes and edit the music info directly, it don't work, cause as soon as you reopen iTunes the music reverts itself back to the defaults.

You can also do a multi get info on a whole album. Just click on the first song... scroll down to the last song in the list and shift click. Then right click on the shaded list and do the get info thing. You'll get a warning dialog pop up but that's easy enough to deal with.

    Hope this helps.

If they're not in one of those crappy crippled Apple or Windows (drmed) formats you can use 'Auto Tag' in WinAmp. At least 98% accurate (mostly uses 'Best Of' Albums instead of the original)
