Hi guys,
I have a simple question related to cleaning file history. My normal way of cleaning file history is deleting an item and then using CCleaner to delete it from the system. However, I am finding that certain .lnk files of previously deleted items are still showing up in the windows search. From the .lnk file I try to "open file location" but it gives me an error about the file is missing. Then, when I try to delete it from the search results, it again says the file is missing. My question is....if the file is missing...how do I clear it from the search so it doesn't show up again? Thanks.

Sorry, I forgot to add I am using 32-bit Windows Vista. Thanks.

You just need to rebuild the search index. Goto Start-->Search-->Type 'Index' and the click on the first result - 'Indexing Options'--> Click Advanced and Rebuild.
