    Hi,

Hope you guys can help me. I have the touch keyboard toolbar enabled in Windows 8. I'm talking about this:

It used to work just fine a couple of days ago but as of yesterday or so it stopped working. I click the keyboard icon but nothing happens.

Any idea why this is happening? surprisingly Google was no help.

    Thanks.

EDIT: Oh and I tried resetting. No go.

Maybe the quick launch button broke? Does it work if you go through the start menu?

Yes it does but these are two different apps I think. The On-Screen Keyboard which is what I have in start menu (Programs -> Ease of Access) is a moveable keyboard that has a different, more complete layout (see below). The Touch Keyboard opens a much larger (targeted at touch platforms I guess) keyboard that "slides" from the bottom of the screen and stays there (you can't move it as far as I know). See screenshot in op.

Do you have an external keyboard attached also? If so, try to unplug it and then try the on screen keyboard again. On my android tablet, the on screen keyboard will not display if I have my bluetooth keyboard on. Maybe same problem with your windows computer?

Thanks but I don't have one. I haven't changed anything with the devices I have connected to the computer for that matter. I only have a wired mouse conntected and it was connected back when this worked. I tried your suggestion anyway with the mouse, no go.

Ok, got it. Apparently the "Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel" service was disabled and it needs to run for this to work. Thank you guys for trying to help.
