    Clock always wrong

    Hi all,

    I am having a really weird problem.

    After I did a clean install of my Win7, the clock at the bottom right corner is always wrong. When I adjust it to the right time, it always seem to jump back to some other time.

    For example its 850pm here, but my clock is displaying 1033pm on Sunday May 22. I am not sure what the problem is, never encountered anything like this before.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Right click your clock and change your internet time to 'time.nist.gov'.
    This may help, it did for me when I had similar trouble.

    Also is DST turned on? Also is your time zone set correctly? Are you using any additional clocks? Is internet time set to SYNC with any servers (as perrin_aybara suggests)?
    If all your windows time settings are good do you get any message on cold boot re: time issues, if so you may need to replace the CMOS battery on your machine.

    Tried syncing with nist.gov. Still not working...

    Anyway, this notebook is really new. Less than a month old. Could this CMOS battery be possible? Also will it then lead to bigger problems?

    If it was the CMOS battery, you should get a message to enter the BIOS on cold boot to reset the clock in the BIOS. Is the clock in the BIOS correct?
    If the machine is new it is highly unlikely the CMOS battery is bad.
    When you reset the clock, does it change while you are in windows or after a restart or reboot

    You could uncheck "Synchronize with an Internet time server" and stop using it if it's not working right. Reboot laptop and set time in BIOS, reboot again and that's a wrap.

    It changes while I am in windows.

    Hmmm ok. Sounds like a plan. I will try that out and post back the results.

    Time zone needs to be adjusted also depending on your location. If you can get this one right then everything should be fine. Also check "Notify me when the clock changes".

    If you ever use Linux it should be set to local time NOT UTC.

    just set the time in the bios ... I had that same problems of time not sticking like I want it ... I set it in the bios and bam it worked like charm
