Just been on the CPUID website to see where ClockGen is now in terms of the development (i.e. changelog) and it says "ClockGen will be back soon." Anyone know why it's gone for the time being?

I hope they find a way to add mobile CPU over clocking support so I can take my T2400 to 2.0ghz or maybe 2.4ghz.
And before I get flamed remember that all original Core Duo chips are basically the exact same thing with the exact same voltage usage but programmed to different clock speeds. -
I want to overclock my TL-56 when I get my laptop in a few days.

Try CrystalCPUID or RMClock.
-
Wouldn't ClockGen work?
-
RMClock wont overclock unless the CPU supports it, possibly with an Extreme Edition.
-
I don't fancy using RMClock, doesn't look very good.
-
Unless the TL-56 supports FID's greater than stock it wont work anyway. All of Intel's CPU's with the exception of some of their extreme editions have a Max FID that over rides any FID setting above it. To overclock them requires ramping up the bus, which RMClock isn't designed to do. It is stricktly designed to manually adjust settings that are by default supported by the CPU.
There is also Notebook Hardware Control, but I don't know if it supports bus overclocking. It also requires that .Net be installed. It does look nicer. -
TL-56 is an AMD CPU unless I'm missing something here?
-
Yeah, I know. I'm just not very familiar with what FID and VID adjustments the TL-56, or other AMD CPU's, allow.
I only jumped in the topic because RMClock was mentioned as an alternative, but RMClock doesn't work the same as a program like Clockgen, which makes Vcore and bus frequency adjustemtents via supported northbridge chipsets - ignoring CPU FID's and VID's. RMClock is dependant upon and only works with available CPU VID's and FID's. -
RMClock looks terrible. I think ClockGen would work with my laptop, just don't want to install anything which won't work cos I don't like install and un-installing stuff unnecessarily. Want to pin-point the right and best tools for the job.

Yeah, it is all nuts and bolts. I set it to run at startup via task scheduler so I never see it, not even any taskbar icons. It works well, always runs and keeps its settings. But you do need something different if you want to overclock.
-
I think ClockGen would be the best choice.

This site has an older version available for download (found with Google):

Might support your hardware. -
Ok thanks. Do you actually know why ClockGen isn't on the CPUID website anymore?
-
I haven't come across anything about it. You could try a board dedicated to tweaking or overclocking to find some info if you don't get an answer here. You might also try Googling to find the last version that was available before it went down.
The link I found is for version 1.0.5.0. I believe the latest was 1.0.5.3. I only checked the first few links when I Googled, and I didn't have the version number to refine my search. -
I will try and find out on some forums.

Jesus what cooling have you got for that? Surely it must be like a cooker at that speed? Is it actually possible to overclock a TL-56 that much stable?

Ah sounds excellent
aren't ICS based on chipset and motherboard? I'm getting a Toshiba A210-11P, any ideas what PLL that would be?

Ok well I'll have to try find out when I get it
ClockGen. Why has it disappeared?
