I have Japanese DVD in its original Japanese language and I am looking for software that would let me adding my own removable closed caption without affecting picture quality in anyway.

Can anyone recommend me software that can do it?

With VSFilter/DirectVobSub you can play subtitles with any directshow player like Windows Media Player, VLC, Media Player Classic etc.. It is just an overlay filter which displays subtitles at runtime, you can turn it on/off, customize the text color and placement anytime you like. It does not modify the video file nor affect the playback quality in anyway.
