Under "power options" , I can only select "stand by" or "do nothing" but

I would like the screen to turn off.

Is this not possible under XP Home or do I have to do this somewhere else ?

Do nothing should just turn the screen off. Standby puts the laptop in standby mode.

I think from my "back-in-the-day" XP times, there is an option to turn your monitor off. Have a look around the power settings. And yes, just closing the lid will turn the monitor off.

It depends on how the PC is made.. Mine doesnt turn off for instance, but it is a vista pc so yeah.

Many pc's have a little actual switch that the screen presses then screen turns off, lol ^^
