    I just use VLC for flash video playing. to edit it use a flv to wmv converter since movie maker wont accept it. can also convert to mpeg or avi

    My first post is a player,,there is a couple in here that edit flv

    2)Avidemux 2.4

    3)RichFLV 4.0 Beta(editors choice)

    RichFLV is free video editing software that allows you to edit Flash Video Files and then export them as FLV, MP3, SWF or even Jpeg and PNG.

    @OP

    FFDShow works with Movie Maker from my experience. There are 2 trusted and well known free codec packages out there. One is called CCCP and the other can be found if you search for Shark007.

    @qhn

    The OP wants to be able to handle videos beyond what Windows supports natively.

    Here is the latest one from Shark007:

    |MG| Win7codecs 3.1.8 Download

    [x64] |MG| x64 Components 3.1.8 Download

    Download both if you have a 64-bit OS.
