My wife just got a Dell i1720. Her old color calibration tool wasn't working with Vista so she got the Spyder2. Well she has a similar problem in that although it clibrates as soon as it's unplugged or restarted Vista seems to override the Spyder settings and defaults back to its own settings.
Any ideas or experience with this (or more particularly how to avoid this issues)?

ColorVision have some updates from the look of it on their website, it sounds like they had some 64bit Vista issues..
"Installer for Spyder2PRO 2.3.5
Requirements: Windows XP, Vista
Features:
If you are running Windows XP x64 and you purchased the retail product that does not include 64 bit support then please download and install this version.
There are no new features in this release.
Fixes:
Added 64-bit Spyder driver to support Windows 64-bit systems.
Compatible with Microsoft Vista."
It could be worth checking to see if there is an updated driver for the one you have?

It might help but I can't say for sure.. I've only got an old Spyder and haven't tried it on Vista. -
+spyder2 version 235 works fine with my vista home premium laptop (IFL90)

- startup
- sleep/hibernation and reawakening
- when some applications or processes (eg installation) resets the screen
She fixed the startup by downloading the patch from Colorvision which places the Colorvision calibration last on the startup menu (otherwise it calibrates and vista reverts).
How do you prevent the reverting of the clibration upon reawakening after sleep/hibernation?
i don't know what exactly cuased her screen to go to black and then revert - all she said was she was installing something.
