Hello,
I've discovered the color calibration tool a while back but recently (after I re-installed some Sony programs and uninstalled them again) everytime I boot my notebook or put it into sleep, the color settings revert back and the display looks washed out. It's really annoying having to use the calibrate tool EVERY time I boot it up. I've read around and it might be something to do with the Color Management settings but I'm not sure. Would greatly appreciate any help, thanks.

Try Color Management -> Advanced -> Change system defaults -> Advanced -> Use Windows display calibration, make sure that's checked.

No luck, it's checked all the time and but the color keeps resetting
I've run out of ideas as to where I can go to stop this happening, none of the options in Color Management seem to help.

have you checked theat the nvidia control panel is not the cause as it might set the colours back to its default setting when windows starts. you could always set the colours with nvidia control panel instead and see if that works
-
START > PROGRAMS> VAIO Control Center
Display> Color mode setting
Deselect: Change to optimal color mode automatically
Select from following color modes: Do not apply color mode
I had the same issue with my Vaio Laptop as well, this fixed it -
evildave86 has sorted it for me....
My new Sony laptop with NVidia card kept reverting back to mucky colours - and I kept having to go into the NVidia control panel after a reboot to set it to use the NVidia settings rather than the 'other appications control color settings'.
evildave86's solution has worked perfectly - cheers! -

This is a well-known problem with color calibration under Windows Vista and 7. Basically, they will keep losing color calibration information in certain situations (like, for example, after waking from sleep mode as you mentioned).
- For everyone who doesn't have a Sony or doesn't want to use the Vaio software, in Windows 7 there's another way to fix this: http://www.pusztaiphoto.com/articles/colormgmt/win7/default.aspx
- In Vista, you're out of luck without special 3rd-party software.

hi,
I have recently bought 4 gb RAM for my laptop (Sony Vaio FZ21M) am because win 7 x86 doesn't recognized me my all RAM switched to windows 7 x64.
I have a lot of work installing the video driver this helped me link , but the default color settings are very bad for my screen so I changed manually using "Adjust desktop color settings" from Nvidia Panel. Till now everything was fine, but I realize that after I reboot my laptop the settings are changed to default, "Use Nvidia settings" is unchecked - I have tried this link the registry fix, but still not working ...
Can anyone help me?
Thanks a lot.
Later update: I manage to fix it, i tried again registry tweak and it works, finally...Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
