Sometimes, when I have my computer come out of sleep, the internet takes the 30 seconds to register, so I assume this is normal. But sometimes, it just flat out won't find it. Then I have to restart it which takes like forever. whats up?

Could it have to do with the fact I only have 1 gig of ram in the computer?

verify and see if the net connection device is being allowed to turn off to save power when not in use

1 gigo ram, even with shared gpu, is fine for xp

    cheers ...,

Because of the Power Management of Windows Vista...It automatically turn-off the Ethernet adapter. When?
    1. When you remove the power cable.
    2. When windows go to sleep, sometimes it fails to turn on again.

Solution: Go to Control Panel->Device Manager->Choose your network adapter->Power Management Tab.
Unclick the 'allow the computer to turn off...'

    Hope this solves your problem.
