I just bought a LG P300 3 days ago
and i noticed that the scroll up/down and left/right doesnt work sometimes, however, once i restart or even turn the laptop back from stand by it will work again, for a while

so is it Vista's, a problem's or the laptops' fault?

I mean in any applications; after a while, the scrolling function in my touch pad just stops working (as in like 30min or less)

Go to control panel>hardware and sound>keyboard.
check if your device status is on "working properly".
maybe u need to update the driver?

Or perhaps regress the driver that Windows Update applied in favor of the newer driver available from the manufacturer of the touchpad.

I've seen a number of Windows Update drivers (Synaptics TouchPad; Wireless Network card; Modem; Sound; Video; ...) that were older than what was available on the hardware manufacturers site. Had I allowed Windows Update to install them I would have regressed the driver to an earlier version.

I am now keeping the drivers on my PC so that I can update them if necessary after installing Window Vista SP1.
