Hey guys, can anyone help me figure out how to correct this new issue?
I am running the latest version of Comodo firewall free edition. It has eaten a lot of the Nvidia files so that while the driver is functional, the control panel and sys tray icon return an "access denied" message. I tried modifying the user rights of the affected files, and then setting nvidia to 'safe' on the firewall, but the problem persists.
uninstall / reinstall of the drivers has not worked. I uninstalled the firewall for now and was able to get the control panel back, but I do not like running without a firewall.

If possible feed it some ati drivers to distract it from the Nvidia ones.

I haven't used Comodo, but there should be a programs tab somewhere, right? Just remove any instances of nvidia and/or the driver (doubt it's driver - that wouldn't be blocked, probably an nvidia program) that's being denied, or set them to be allowed. You don't really need any active nvidia programs running for your drivers to work, by the way.
I use Online Armor (free), and it's the best free firewall I've used. Better than some paid ones too (Outpost would be the best paid one, but it has the occasional build with massive errors/blue screens).

Try this: In Comodo
-Click the Defense+ tab
-Click 'Advanced'
-Click 'Computer Security Policy'
-Add all relevent programs to the 'Trusted Application' list under the 'Predefined Policy' list.
-Now Click "Common Tasks'
There are a few different things you can do here. The first thing I'd do it click, 'My Own Safe Files'.
-Add the NVIDIA directory that is being blocked.
-If you have any software that NVIDIA signed, you can add NDIVIA to the 'My Trusted Software Vendors' list.
If you are still having issues, you can check out the Comodo action history by clicking, 'View Defense+ Events'. Look through the list to see if anything NVIDIA was blocked.
