How do I make a complete PC backup cd if I have Vista Home premium? I know business and ultimate has this option, but what about home?

Nope, only the Business and Ultimate editions.

You could use a third-party program to do the same sort of thing. DriveImageXML is a free option. Acronis TrueImage is a popular option but it's not free.

DriveXML has me confused. It says back up "logical drives and partitions" which leads me to believe you can't back up your primary or OS drive.

Paragon Drive Backup is another third party solution. I use PDB Personal 8.5.1 and it backs up and restores well for me. I see there is a new V9.x available, but I really don't have the funds, time, or inclination to go through the effort to retest right now.

Why? Nothing about "logical drives and partitions" would make me think that the system partition or the drive it's on would b excluded. A logical drive is just a partition, as far as I know. Your primary OS is on a partition. If you want to back up the whole drive, you'll probably need to do each partition separately (if you have more than one). The reviews here certainly make it sound like it'll back up your OS partition.

I'll take your word for it.

In the meantime if the OP has a Seagate or Maxor HD (either internal or external) they can download Seagate DiscWizard (less features than ATI) they cam use that.

Macrium Reflect is another free option if you get the free version ( see here).
