    Hey there..

Yes my laptop seems to have this problem with it freezing when the PC does this auto downclock thing, which Vista is very programmed to do. I currently use old ty XP with the power scheme called "Always On" (so its constantly 2,26 GHZ). It NEVER freezes in XP with the power scheme. But in Vista, i figured using the "maximum performance" or w/e its called would solve the problem, but no it does not. So i was thinking if you knew any way to completely disable any downclock/throttle so my PC is constantly at 2,226 GHZ (maximum).

    Regards

Is there an option in the BIOS to disable it? My last Dell notebook had it in there.

In vista's advance power management(can't remember what is is called exactly right now) there is a option that allows you to set the processors maximum and minimum states in percentage you can set it to 100% there and it will remain at 100% clock speed.

However if I were you I would investigate why your notebook freezes every time the cpu clock frequency changes. Mobile processors are meant to do that inorder to keep the cpu temperature under control.

Using the always on (XP) or high performance (vista) setting which as you know locks the processor at its highest setting should not be the answer.

Its obviously thats theres something wrong with it, but its Zepto and that company is known for bad service so sending it in to them and waiting for them to fix it which they probably wont because i doubt they'll take time to wait for it to freeze (it doesnt happen all the time). I need it for school so yeah.

I found it. Follow these steps and see if it helps you...

1 Go into control panel and go to power options.

2 Click "Change plan settings" under the power plan you’re currently using.

3 Click Change advanced power settings and come to processor power management.

    4 Expand Processor Power Management.

5 Expand Maximum as well as Minimum power states.

6 Adjust the percentages for On battery and Plugged in to 100% on both max and min states.

See if this helps. Doing this will set the processor's maximum and minimum state to 100% meaning it will run at full speed constantly.

Yes that should cover it, yet it tend to freeze :( I dont even know if thats the problem but i really think it is.. If i run RMCLock i can see it trottle down just 100 mhz or something.. dunno if that has an effect
