    Friends,

I have a HP Intel Core 2 Duo [email protected] Ghz
4 Gb Ram, Window 7 Ultimate Edition

Since past two days my laptop started to hang after simple operations.
I started browsing doing regular net surfing and my browser suddenly stopped responding, taskbar stopped responding. I had to use my on/off button to manually restart.
Also same thing happened while using microsoft word, windows explorer.
I do have Antivirus Kaspersky trial version right now and did a full scan.
Also I cleaned up my c:

    Any suggestions.
    Thanks

If you have a restore point before this happened - go for it. If not start reviewing your background processes and services.

    cheers ...

You should run a spyware check aswell, to make sure no spyware has gotten in, as I don't think Kaspersky detects it? I'm not sure. Anyway, I recommend you don't use trial AV's anyway, download something that is free and reputable, like MSE. Download that and run a full scan.

Another thing that could be a possibility is that your HDD could be failing, a RAM could be bad. Could be anything, usually in a situation like this we just reformat and see if that corrects it.

So my advice, run a full MSE scan, if nothing comes up, backup your data and reinstall your OS.

EDIT: And like qhn said, check the services that are running, as they might be causing an unstable system. When did it start to get like this?
