If people are wondering why I have been posting here so much lately, it is because I have 3 computers in my household that are having problems at the same time. I guess bad things do happen in threes.

My computer will crash and I get a black screeen with this message repeating. I do not get a BSOD.

    Inel Boot Agent Version 4.0.19
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
    PXE-M0F: Exiting Intel PXE ROM
    1962: No Operating system found

Press F1 to repeat boot sequence

I did a google search and someone posted the same problem, but it is not clear what I should do. The problem does not occur when I boot my computer like it does with the person that posted the message.

    Edit:

ACTUALLY, come to think of it, the first time it occured was when I ran the disk defragmenter.

So basically your computer just restarts and cannot detect the hard-drive... not sure about the cause though. What are the specs of the computer? Is it a new computer or an old computer?

Post your computer specs, and exactly when this happens. Have you updated any drivers recently, installed any applications recently, done a spyware/virus/trjoan scan lately?

Pentium IV 4 , 1 GB RAM, XP Pro, No drivers updated, no applications, did do a spyware and virus scan lately.

ACTUALLY, come to think of it, the first time it occured was when I ran the disk defragmenter.

The other two times it was random. One time I just stepped away, and I came back and it happened.

Run checkdisk (from the command line, running as administrator, chkdsk /f /r) to see if your drive is dying.
