Display keeps turning off after a couple of minutes. In the power options under Choose when display turns off, I have it set to 30 minutes when plugged in. Despite this, its still shutting off after only about 3 minutes when idol. What am I missing?

Windows performed some auto updates recently and my BIOS was also updated. The only other change was the GPU update to the most recent drivers.

None of which have ever effected this before. Other than that, I haven't made any other changes in the system that I can recall.

What kind of laptop is it? Some manufacturers have some sort of power management software that has priority over windows. Have you checked for one?

Have you checked in power options to see if the system goes to sleep rather than just turns the display off? Is the screensaver set to blank the screen after 3 minutes?

Stupid screensaver. That's one feature I never use so it didn't even occur to me to check it. How'd it turn itself on anyway?

    Thanks all!
