For some reason my computer occasionally randomly stops connecting to the internet. My desktop and other laptops work just fine. I've checked the ethernet cable, used a different hub/ethernet slot, but cannot for the life of me find what's causing the problem. In the event viewer here are the three error messages I get

I've googled the error messages but nothing came up. I'm using windows XP SP3

. Did this happen before? Yes - restore point?

. Try clear out your DNS?

. Firewall and AV setting review?

    cheers ...

How about reset the home router? Might want to clear out some of the network connection profiles you have when you were at school also.

    cheers ...

You could even try this tool, just in case it's an IP stack or Winsock issue.

Were the correctly functioning desktop and other laptops at school with you as well? Or was it just this one laptop that is now also causing you the problem.

By chance are any of the TCP/IP settings hard coded rather than using DHCP to set them? Like maybe the DHCP and/or DNS server settings were hard coded to point to the schools DNS servers. Just a shot in the dark.
