Is a new boxed “32 bit Vista SP 1 full OEM” the same (or as good) as one without the OEM designation, and what, if any, is the difference between them?

The OEM designation means you can NEVER transfer the license from the PC you first install it on. Which means once the computer dies the OS goes with it.

Thanks, Swarmer. I'm relatively new to all of this, but I appreciate your help. Your response was clearly understood, but I appreciate it anyway.

Vista Home Premium is currently $119 for the upgrade or $209 for the full product. Both with SP1 included. At amazon.com.

That's great. I will get that instead of the OEM. You all have helped me very much.
