Just received my Samsung Q35 laptop back from the repair man - broken screen the day I bought it!
Taken ages.
Office 2007 Trial now expired and I see I have NO Office capability at all ... not even WORD!
I DO have an upgrade to full Office which is on a disc and I used on my old SONY desktop.
Tried to install that on my Vista Samsung but no go.
Stuck.
Confused.
What do I do - can't believe I have to shell out more money to these people at Microsoft when I have a new laptop but with what looks like just a trial version of Office on it?
How do I install Office?
Am I a mug punter and destined to have to give Gates and his people MORE money to install it?
Help - no Works, PPoint or anything else and I need to work!
Thanks

Should have said the disc is XP ....

from what i know you can use an office liscense for 3 computers.. or was i wrong about this. its been so long since ive made the switch to openoffice.

Was office listed as part of the deal when you bought your laptop? If it was then the disk should have been supplied with your laptop. If you don't have the disk and it was listed as part of the deal then you'll need to contact the place you bought it from.
If it wasn't part of the deal then I would think you'll need to buy a copy as your upgrade disk will only upgrade an earlier version of Office, I'm guessing the one you have on as a trial would be the latest version.
Another option would be OpenOffice. It is a damn good Microsoft Office replacement and can do everything it does (as far as I am aware).. best part of it is.. it's free..
www.openoffice.org -
You can try to use Open Office. It's basically the same as Office 2007 but it's free and doesn't look as flashy.

The Office box will specify whether it's for 3 licenses. Student and Teacher 2003 was, and I assume Home and Student 2007. Professional, and most others I believe, are not.
Pre-installs are almost never for multiple licenses. I would also bet money that, unless you specified that you want Office installed (pay for), you had a trial version that expired. Either use Open Office, or pay for MS Office. -
Just curious. Why would you send your laptop for repair instead of returning it for a new one?

Trials has limited time frame and then you have the option of activating it to make it fully functional. This is where you're connected to Microsoft, buy a key and activate it.
Confused as usual! Help needed.
