I have tried rebuilding the Internet Explorer Index as suggested on some forum but that didn't help. Indexing is enabled so I don't know what's causing these errors......any suggestions?
Now I saw a new one:

I thought you said you had disabled search indexing?
Disable in services.msc then Delete the Search folder from \ProgramData\Microsoft\
Reboot, turn it back on to recreate.Ferris23 likes this. -

I always did disable it in the past but this format, I decided to leave everything at defaults to see how can I get rid of all these background errors that are happening
I'll try what you suggested and report back. Thanks d00d -
Are you really cleaning up the MBR before you reimage? Or are you secure erasing each time?
You can try this next time to make sure nothing is lingering around unwanted and unclean, maybe a better alternative to secure erasing:

UEFI, but there are some links and more info within: http://forum.notebookreview.com/sol...ly-secureerase-oem-ssd-drive.html#post9446848Ferris23 likes this. -

I don't even know what's cleaning up the MBR all I do when I want to image / retore an image is do it through Macrium Reflect PRO
Wait a second, this just reminds me, you know when I first format and install Windows, the first thing I do is move my libraries to the D: partition, that includes Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, Links, Saved Games, Searches, Contacts, Favorites
The only folder which remains in tact in my Users is the Desktop and APPDATA folder otherwise everything is moved to D: (which is the mSATA 840 EVO 1TB)
Moving the Searches location to my D: partition wouldn't be causing this error now would it?
I rebuilt the search index........cleared event logs then rebooted.......
again......
-
You move them to a D: Partition or to a secondary Drive with a D: partition?
Don't think you should be restoring your AppData folder like that. Of course you will have data in there, for example custom Adobe PS presets that are created by the user and such that need to be backed up and not forgotten, but there are settings in there that may not play nice with a new install. Libraries aren't the best for this maneuver either, better to just copy the account folder's subfolders and pick and choose what to restore, and use copy instead of move on the restore so that the file inherits the security properties of the new account.
I don't know if this will help but you can take a look: http://forum.notebookreview.com/dell-latitude-vostro-precision/687529-m6600-reimaging-thread.htmlFerris23 likes this. -

Oh I don't move the AppData folder, I said the only thing I leave intact is the AppData and Desktop folder.
What I move is the Contacts, Docus, Music, Pics, Videos, Links, Searches, Saved Games
I simply right click on the folder, then choose properties, then location, then I move them from there.
I will format my laptop tonight and this time I will only move the Docs, Music, Pics, Videos, Favorites, and Contacts and will leave the Saved Games / Searches intact
Thanks for all your help man -
Do you have MS Office installed? If so try to repair the installation.

Yes I do and that's what the forum I visited suggested but I didn't do it because I was thinking this is a fresh Windows 7 installation how can Office be corrupted......
Mind you, I installed Office 2013 Home & Business Ediiton using the online installer which is a 1 MB file that installs office online and gets the latest versions right away.
I have the original DVD I'll try to install that instead the next time as well. -
The online installer most likely download everything it needs in a temp folder. Just go to "Control Panel", select MS Office, click "Change" then "Repair", you are not losing anything for trying that nor you need any additional resources.Ferris23 likes this.

Alright I'm doing that as we speak and will report back.....
After about 2 hours, the issue seems to be gone! dunno how on earth did doing the repair in Office 2013 solve it but I'm happy! The reason I never tried htis before is because this was a recent installation so couldn't have imagine it may be corrupt but thanks a lot everyone!
This forum is full of people who know their stuff inside and out!
spoke too soon I guess, the error is back, time for a format to please my OCD -
If you are restoring an image that has these problems...
Then the problems will recur each time. Factory images are not always perfect either.
As you have said "Now I saw a new one" (these problems) and "I don't even know what's cleaning up the MBR all I do when I want to image / restore an image is do it through Macrium Reflect PRO"
What kinds of other problems and have you ever done a Clean install?Ferris23 likes this. -

Bro, I only do clean installs, I never run the crap OEMS give us.
This time, I didn't move the search folder library to D: and kept it at default...
Let's see how this goes
Also, this time in macrium Reflect Pro, I didn't create the image while I'm in Windows but I created it by booting off the rescue CD -
I'm not familiar with Macrium. I have a Dell system also... You might want to get a generic Windows ISO.
Yup, it's frustrating trying to communicate on message boards sometimes... I can't see your system except the screen in my head

I have an original Windows 7 Professional SP1 Disc (System Builders Ediiton) but I am using the DELL Windows 7 SP1 disc to get those alienware logos/wallpapers/login screen all preinstalled for meh -
If you have the Raid On setting in your Bios, with the Dell Win 7 DVD you can leave it set. That is the one benefit of the OEM DVD, not needing to set it to AHCI. It also keeps multiple drives enumerating properly during the install.
Grab those wallpapers, sounds and other theme stuff and store them somewhere safe.Ferris23 likes this. -
O.k., I am going to need the full message, and EventID. In the meantime, a few remarks:
On a brand-new setup, Search typically shows these errors until it has started to build a basic index. In particular, if the user that is listed as part of the source descriptor has not initialized the corresponding facility yet, you will see messages of this type. This is true for the IE history, for OneNote indices (if you have OneNote installed) and, in particular, for the Outlook database (index for that is stored in the mapi:... container). Once the system is fully set up and the initial index is built, the messages should stop.
P.S.: There's no need to mess around with low-level functionality here. Chances are your system is perfectly fine. Just let it finish indexing, and give it a few reboots... -

But you see, there is nothing wrong yet in Event Viewer, I have installed all Windows updates, now slowly installing my programs....I didn't install Office 2013 yet.......I am starting to narrow this problem to Office 2013..
this time I wont install Office from the online installer, I'll install it using the DVD which it came with for Office Home & Business Edition 2013 and report backRCB likes this. -
It is really hard from this end to see. Pirx made note of the mapi, which MS Office Outlook uses. You do use that Outlook correct? If not see if you can uncheck it in the Control panel / indexing options and advanced options. Additionally, if you do use Outlook and you have a lot of Mail items it can take a while to index because using the computer causes the indexing to go slower.
Note: you may already know some or all of this, lol!!!
Edit: To index the Outlook file, Open Outlook and leave it alone for awhile. Hopefully all these troubles aren't over a simple little setting somewhere that we are forgetting about.Ferris23 likes this. -

I do use Outlook and in fact, the only reason I use Office 2013 although I don't like its interface is because Outlook 2013 is much better than Outlook 2010 when it comes to MAPI
1) Outlook 2010 has to create its Outlook PST file even when I don't use any POP or Exchange email and just 2 MAPI accounts thus on the left side I would see my 2 emails and another expandable Outlook thingie that is always open on default when I restart Outlook which I don't like since I have to collapse it everytime
2) With Outlook 2010, my main issue is that after setting my accounts, sometimes when I try to send an email it gives me a synchronization error and it never does send despite me putting the settings / ports manually in advanced setup which again forces me to use Outlook 2013
I will try to leave the system for a long time after setting Outlook up this time
You guys are very professional and I appreciate you staying with me on this.......will report backRCB likes this. -

Here we go again, the moment I installed Office 2013 Home & Business Edition, configured my Outlook and launched it......
I didn't even close Outlook I am leaving it open for the Indexing to work as RCB suggested......
sigh........ -
Oh darn, I'm sorry, I completely overlooked that this is Office 2013 that you are installing on Windows 7. That may very well be the culprit: To be in line with the way Microsoft has crippled Search in Win8.x, they have also removed the Desktop Search capabilities from Office 2013. I'm not sure (can't check, since that is exactly the reason I won't use Office 2013), but this situation may be causing your issues.
After the index is built, can you search your email from within Outlook? Note that you will not be able to search email from outside of Outlook (Start Menu, or Explorer interface) anymore. If you can still search from within Outlook, then I guess everything is fine (well, as fine as it can be...), despite the error messages. Like I said, it's still possible the error might go away after the index is built and a couple of reboots. If not, then this appears to be a native feature of Outlook 2013

Just a tip:
1 - Select all folders you want to move in the /Users/Username subfolder while holding down Ctrl, then release Ctrl.
2 - Drag the folders to the new location using the right mouse button.
2 - Select "Move" in the menu that pops up.
Done.
Drag and drop using the right mouse button is an old feature, yet I don't think it's being used much.
If you use the left button it makes Windows copy the folders since you change partition.Ferris23 likes this. -

What I used to do in the past is simply select all the folders I want to move then hit CTRL + X to cut them and paste them where I want and it has always worked but everyone on MDL forums told me that's wrong and I may have library issues at some point so I started doing it the old fationed / slow way of right clicking each folder then selecting to move from its location properties just to make sure I don't mess up anything since I am always getting these weird erros such as the above event logs.
so I restored my image and this time I am giving Office 2010 Professional Plus a go. I hope I can get this Outlook to work and thus eliminate those event log errors because after narrowing it down, it seems Outlook 2013 Home & Business Edition / it's Outlook in particular is the cause of these errors. -
I'm not entirely sure if this method works correctly for the shell folders we are talking about here. It might, but note that this requires Explorer to treat these folders specially, and adjust the associated registry keys. It may do that, but like I said I'm not sure. The method that the OP described is certainly a safe method to use.
Of course, for any other folder, yes, using right-drag and the associated context menu is the way to go, in order to make sure you know exactly what you are doing. Otherwise Explorer decides whether to move or copy a file or folder based on the respective locations (copy if the object is moved to a different volume, move if it's moved within a volume). And, of course, which one of the two is performed can have profound consequences, since ACLs are treated differently in the two cases... -
Ferris,
Just a note: If you use Outlook 2010 and Outlook Connector to connect to Outlook.com with multiple Outlook.com accounts you will have connection errors on the startup of Outlook... It's a known issue.Ferris23 likes this. -

What I did so far.....
Launch Outlook 2010 and setup my @zoho.com MAPI account then wait for all the folders to synchornize then left it for about 20 mins untouched
then I installed the Outlook Connecter and added my @outlook.com account and waited for the synchronization to end then I tried sending an email from my @zoho.com account and it went through fine.....
Thanks for notifying me about the possible issue with the Outlook connected I never even thought about this in the past when I did have problems sending email where it would say failed to synchronize and the emails would just get stuck in the Outbox......
Will keep monitoring this, so far no errors in the event log and it's been an hour whereas in Office 2013 Home & Business / Outlook 2013 the errors would start in a matter of minutes -
If you are interested, I also have a registry tweak to force Outlook to ask you for a send From account (instead of automatically sending from the default account).
Let me know, I'll have to find it.Ferris23 likes this. -

I'm cool bro, I don't need it but I would like to have that reg tweak to add it to my software collection for those times when I fix someone's PC and he asks for it......
if it ain't too much trouble that is -
Here you go, attached. See the readme text file - for attribution.
Run as administrator only. You'll need to open the registry hive for any standard accounts (from an administrator account) because of permissions and you will also need to edit the path within the .reg file to merge into another account.
Btw, I found it easily this time.Attached Files:

Awesome!! Cheers bro

It has worked for me the last ten years. The way I see it, it either works or not, and for me the changes are made in the registry accordingly.
I don't really understand why you doubt it, really. -
I didn't say I doubt it, I just said I wasn't sure. Since you specifically confirm that the registry keys for the shell folders are properly updated, I'll take your word for it. Thanks for the clarification.Ferris23 likes this.
