I have two accounts on my computer, my account and a limited account for guests.

How can I control what goes on within the limited account, for example what programs start up in the account when logged on or what icons appear and such.

I cannot do it from within that account as it is limited so I will get a "access denied" message.

    Thank you

I'm not completely sure on this, but I think you may need to edit the group and user policies, and I believe that can only be done in the Pro version of XP.

XP Pro and MCE2002 can do this, if you got windows XP home you are out to sea...

Type gpedit.msc in the start menu run command and it will open up group policies, if you got XP home it will tell you it cannot be found.
