    I have Win 7 Ultimate 32 bit. Whenever I try to access any item in control, I get an error saying,"Windows explorer has stopper working" and it restarts my explorer everytime. Any way to fix this?

    No...but all that technology at only 32 bits? That just doesn't seem right some how.

    That happened the first time I installed Vista 64-bit...I reformatted and reinstalled the exact same OS and it never happened again.

    well happened to me in vista when i clicked on a movies folder in my d drive i was not able to access it explorer stopped working and restarted.
    i checked for solutions online and it solved with help of a patch for thumbnails i was able to solve it
    i guess if u use windows feature which searches for solutions online it might solve ur problem too

    Well, how to use the windows features specifically?
    When it happens, it doesnot redirects me anywhere.

    in the start menu type problem now u will get problem report and solutions feature now in it see windows problem or the one u stated will be listed now just check for solutions if u r lucky u will get the soluiton.
    mine was solved like this :p

    Can someone recommend me a software to look into status of hard drive?
    Like if it has bad sectors,errors and other details.

    it's unlikely to be bad sectors or errors. Most likely a corrupt installation. I assume system restore didn't do anything?

    The system just freezes unusally so just wanted to check for bad sectors so can anyone recommend a nice software for that?

    It looks like my system loves to have Win 7 reinstalled every month. its 4th time in a row that Im reinstalling it.

    This would happen to me when I had Windows Vista 32 bit. I traced it down to Avast Antivirus. When I turned Avast off I was able to access the control panel successfully.
