Sorry, this will definitely sound as a noobish question. But...
Does it really normally take around 20~30+ minutes for ConvertXtoDVD to... convert video files to DVD? Apart from the burning part, of course; just the encoding part. Also, is this a CPU-intensive activity? I noticed it uses lots of CPU power and my CPU temps go up to around 63C [it idles at 35~39C and goes up to 55C with Flash ie. YouTube].
Thanks![]()

It takes me 15 minutes to convert and then another 5 to burn. I have a P9500. I asked a friend of mine who has a T9800 to burn the same movie using the same program. It took him 17 minutes total.
Anything converting, encoding, compiling or decoding is fully CPU-intensive.
Taking a look at your processor, that's the normal time it should take, for the clock speed and the technology.
Let me cheer you up, with my old Toshiba Laptop with a P4 3.06GHZ, it took me 3 hours for the total process.

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm not really complaining or anything, just wondering if it could've been another component that slows down the process, or if it depends on the file type, or if ConvertXtoDVD supports dual core processors, etc. In short, I was wondering if there was another issue or something. Apparently my experience is just normal and that's good to know.
Lol I wouldn't want to know how long it would take on my P4 2.4GHz desktop!

I use ConvertX and despite it being a little slow it works very well.
17 minutes is a dream! Takes me about 25. -

Hi.
It takes me around 10mins for a 90min movie, with my P8400 at 80% cpu load.

25-30 seems to be about the norm on my end. I use this program to place 3 movies on a single disc. Take for instance the Bourne series. I have all three backed up on 1 dvd, so I don't have to carry multiple discs with me. Pretty cool program
