My new laptop is being shipped, and should arrive next week.
What's the best / easiest way to transfer files or programs from my old computer?
thanks

Programs need to be installed fresh. XP has a decent file transfer wizard, though if you know what oyu need to move, doing over the network or with a USB drive might be best.

Yes, programs do need to be installed fresh. Hope I can find the original cds.
The USB drive is a good idea. I thought of copying files to cds and then copying them from the cds to the new computer.
A USB drive might be easier, though.

I just got a new laptop and I need to transfer a few programs suite to my new Laptop from my Desktop.
I lost the CD's when I moved. I don't want to have to buy them again, but is there any way of transferring the Programs without also bringing the operating system along and everything else I don't need?
Thanks in advance
