Hopefully this is the correct category so here goes

I currently have an 8GB Corsair flash Survivor (the one in the aluminum cigar case) and something happened when I was using it today. I had two text files open from it and when I went to look for a third the drive quit responding. I was able to safely remove it but upon remounting the drive all of the files and file folders were corrupt. All of the names are gibberish along with the drive's name which is currently ╬φN gáC^▀Ä and none of the folders can be opened. I have tried using undelete plus but it wont even start a search saying the start and end sectors are bad. I also tried Easy File Undelete which shows some files but I do not have the full version and cannot do more than look at the file names.

I really need to get these files back. Some of them are school work and represent a rather important project. Even if I lost the file names the data would be very helpful since most of the important files are of specific sizes or extentions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so thanks in advance!

I had a 8GB Corsair Padlock die on me, it would stop responding while copying large files and give crc error while extracting.

I tried it on 2 notebook with the same results, i sent it back and got a refund.

It`s the only flash device that has died on me so far, and i have had over a dozen different brands.

I doubt anyone here is going to be able to help you recover data from bad flash memory. It's something that happens to all flash memory, and this is why you should never only have data on your flash drive.

If it's REALLY important, I'd go to these guys:
    http://www.drivesaversdatarecovery.com/

Also the more you attempt to get data off that drive, the worse it is going to get.
