Running win 7 x64 but this seems like a generic issue, hence why I'm posting here.

When I try to access a particular directory in my external hard drive, an error pops up saying that the The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Please advise as to how I may fix the problem. Any shell commands or powershell cmdlets to run?
