So i had some random crash while trying to open piclens in firefox. I know of some ways to test software and hardware, but i was wondering what you would suggest to test which part of my system is causing the crashes.

    Thanks in advance

Crashes as in browser crashes, or system crashes?

I would first try uninstall and reinstalling PicLens. Also what other addon are you using? many of them can conflict each other to cause a crash. Disable the others one by one and see.

    cheers ...

piclens tends to be rather heavy on system useage. while previously trying it (6months or more ago) having any other opengl or direct3d applications open at the same time would cause massive slowdowns and eventual crashes.

make sure you have the newest drivers, firefox is updated, and all extensions are updated. other than that i agree with the conflicting extensions comment, while using piclens if i had any of the 3dtab extensions or tab preview extentions enabled it would always crash, sometimes not till i was closing piclens, sometimes while i was scrolling through pictures. also try setting up a "gaming" profile for firefox to control the 3d methods it uses and their level's, something as simple as lowering firefox to the minimum levels of all 3d settings could fix it(though this could potentionally slow piclens down or make it look not as pretty).
