If you have a copy of all the files found under the i386 folder of Windows XP installation CD (MCE included), than that is all you need. Burn them on a CD with the i386 folder. However, that will not make it a bootable CD; for that you need to find a boot image and burn it on to the boot sector of the CD. Otherwise you have first boot the notebook with another bootable device (using either a bootable CD or a USB drive) and then run winnt.exe under .\i386 folder.
