I've made everything on my computer black/gray (I don't know why, but I'm in love with those colors at this moment), except for the Theme Bars. I can only keep them Silver/Blue/Olive. And those colors are too bright and blech for my taste, at the moment. Is there any way of changing those colors to something custom, short of installing a new kernel? If not, is there any way to screw up your system whilst installing a new kernel?
Thanks in advance.

There is a black theme, where the taskbars are black, and the start button (Windows XP) is red.....its called the Zune theme....I set my Windows XP desktop to that theme after seeing it on this board.
You can download it here: http://www.downloadsquad.com/2006/11/03/windows-xp-zune-theme/ -
or you can get Crystal XP Vista Ultimate 2...or is it Inspirat 2?....it makes XP look just like Vista.

try downloading the uxtheme.dll patcher and applying a .msstyle
it lets you apply unsigned themes to xp
