I tried using DBAN on my XPS M1530 harddrive and I got an error message stating non-fatal errors occurred possibly due to bad sectors. I highly doubt bad sectors are responsible as my M1530 is only about 7 months old and I have hard drives many years older that doesn't have bad sectors. I ran chkdsk on XP and Vista. Vista shows no errors or bad sectors while XP sometimes shows errors and sometimes does not. Oddly enough, I've noticed the same chkdsk issues on my brand spanking new harddrive that I have since upgraded with recently. Does DBAN have issues with notebook SATAs? Any other dualboot Vista/XP XPS M1530 owners experience the same chkdsk issues (for XP, run chkdsk, reboot, run chkdsk again)?
