Looking for recommendations for a DLNA compatible media server program.
Want to be able to connect our desktop (on one side of the room) to our blu-ray player (on the opposite side of the room) via WiFi...and no, a long HDMI cable is NOT an option.
I've tried the DLNA thru Windows Media Player...but that sucks something awful.
Right now I've got a trial version of Wild Media Server. Does what I want it, but it looks far too complicated for the roommates.
Will be running on Windows 7. It would be nice if it could transcode, but I'll take simplicity over transcoding mkv to mt2s.
Any suggestions?

Serviio and Plex are both good options. They can be a bit finicky, but overall work fairly well.

Define finicky.

I've used this with my PS3

Interesting. I will have to see how PS3 Media Server does.

I found it to be fussy sometimes, but I want to blame the ps3 for that rather than the software.

I ended up going with XBMC. Very pain free setup. Only problem is there's no "close to tray" or "run at startup" options. So they roommates will have to open up XBMC and minimize it in order to run the DLNA. But considering it required no extra setup other than scan for videos, and it's free, I can't complain too much.
