Ok so I'm trying to burn a video with Windows DVD Maker. The video is in 16:9 and when I go to the settings before the burn I set it to burn it in 16:9 but whenever it is actually burned onto the disc it for some reason plays back in 4:3. I tried Windows DVD Maker twice and iDVD. iDVD just burned a nice green image onto the DVD for 90 minutes and took twice as long so I'll stick with the DVD Maker on Windows 7.
Is there something I am doing wrong here? Do I need to convert the file to something else? It is a .avi.
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

The program i use to burn my AVI files is called, ConvertXtoDVD. You do have to pay for it but im pretty sure there is a free trial, All my dvd's come out perfect. There are also other ways to "try" the program, if you know what i mean

Still haven't figured this out. Figured out the iDVD problem but after two tries there I can't get a brand new blank DVD to play through an entire movie without stopping with disk read errors.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? -
Still searching. Asked on Yahoo (first time ever and it was worthless), asked on several other forums, talked to the "tech desk" at my school, etc.
Driving me nuts.
DVD Maker keeps burning movie in 4:3 instead of 16:9
