I'll start by saying bluntly what I'm after: I want some sort of software work around for the DVD region restrictions on my laptop.

Now for some justification: my brother just got back from a trip to Europe, and he came bearing DVDs (all legal). He's changed his machine to read the British format, but this is a temporary solution since he also has a number of American ones and the number of times you can change region is capped at 5. At any rate, we don't need total region freedom, just the ability to switch back and forth between US and UK.

Please let me know if there is any sort of accessible solution to this.

    1. You could use apps like AnyDVD
    2. Patch your DVD Firmware to RPC1 compliant firmware
